He was predeceased by: his parents, Scott Dotson and Rose Dotson. He is survived by: his wife Betty; his son Mark (Kathy); his grandchildren, Sam, Drew Dotson, Chris Hampton and Brandy Franklin (Austin); his great grandchildren, Bentley and Baylor; his sister Phyllis Hill; and his sister-in-law Verley Dotson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to The Clay and Betty Dotson Endowed Scholarship at Young Harris College.
