She was predeceased by: her parents, John Fulton Whittemore and Lula Bell Collins. She is survived by: her husband Dan Nichols of Young Harris; her son Daniel; her daughter-in-law Lisa Nichols of Dalton, GA.; her daughters, Dora Gaines of Young Harris and Amanda Treece of Tunnel Hill, GA.; and her siblings, Edward Whittemore of Ellijay, GA., Johnny Whittemore of Ringgold, GA. and Velma Alton of Ringgold, GA.. She is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
