He is survived by: his mother Irma Ruth Harper Merritt; his children, Linsey Merritt, Cory Merritt and Casey Merritt; his grandchildren, Bradley White, Aireal Vazques, Cassidy Merritt, Destiny Merritt of Charley Merritt, J. T, Holland Lott, Calyuar Lott, James Williams, Johnathan Williams, Kasey Merritt, Jaylin Merritt and Harley Merritt; his great grandchildren, Elijah Larue Silver, Jayden White, Kolton Merritt and Noah Roberts; and his sister Linda Gail Arnold. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Sims Funeral Home (201 N Peterson Ave, Douglas, GA 31533). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bethany Holiness Baptist Church (166 Bethany Church Rd, Ambrose, GA 31512).
