He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Olin Walter Knight Sr. and Maude Pate Knight; his wife Margaret Knight; his daughters, Rita Brown (Michael) of Alpharetta, Georgia Moore and LuAnn Moore (Zach) of Woodstock, Georgia; his brother Jack Knight (Brenda) of Bethune; his grandchildren, Courtney Pittman, Kristina Appen and Erin Miller; and his great grandchildren, Tripp Pittman, Townes Pittman, Phoebe Appen, Leo Appen, Trip Miller, Elaina Miller and Cormac Miller. He was also cherished by several nephews, extended family members and friends.

In lieu of customary remembrances the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
