“Our family was blessed to have Brian's kind and loving soul as a part of our lives. Although it was long ago, he has always been remembered, and always will be. His warm,  loving, fun spirit and energy was unique and contagious. He always lit up the room when he arrived. Always a true friend and protector, my parents knew I was safe when he went out with us. Brian, say hello to Capt. Jack for me. You will be missed down here.”

“I met Brian thru my son Van who became part of our family for years........ a gentle soul who we knew would be there for you immediately if you needed him. Years ago Brian drove 45 mins each way at 10 Pm just to safely walk me to my car when I was doing graduate work in a dangerous area - we teased he was my bodyguard. I am honored to have known him and forever saddened by this devastating loss to the family he treasured so much.”

“It’s easy to say that someone is special and they may be but Brian filled the room with his presence. He took in everyone he met into his world with the vastness of his love of life. In our conversations regarding religion, he questioned me in the history of Judaism to understand the roots of Chritianity. Both student and teacher, he excelled at both. May God shelter him in His embrace forever”

“In loving memory of Brian Joseph Cavallaro, The Gooch! A good man with a big heart. The beast had your back and would do anything for a friend. We all met Brian in our Junior year in high school 84'. Fondest memory was driving to see the dead, Dillion and Petti in DC 85'. We were all sad and upset to hear Brian's passing. Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Brian was loved and will be missed. The boys from Port Washington: Andy, Bo, Baron, Dave, Ken, Mark, Anthony and Van”
