He was predeceased by: his parent Sam McCannon Sr.; his wife Jessie Mae Callaway McCannon; his son Terry McCannon; and his brothers, Clifford McCannon, Walter Allen McCannon Sr. and Grady McCannon.

He is survived by: his sister Betty Lovett.
