She was predeceased by: her husband J. W. Johnson; her parents, Elmer Nelson and Annie Belle Nelson; and her siblings, Marie Gates, Jenny Nelson, Mary Ann Nelson and Billy Nelson.

She is survived by: her sister Peggy Lyle; and her nieces, Cathy Davis, Karen Glover, Teresa Hamilton and Tammy Freeman.
