He is survived by: his significant other Gladys Higgins of Blairsville; his children, Missy Plotts (Jeff), Heather Laird of Marietta, GA, Heath Hammond (Gena) of Winston, GA, Matthew Hammond of Naples, FL, Mark Hammond (Misty) of Woodstock, GA and Crystal Askins (Stephen) of Florence, SC; his sister Peggy Hammond; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Hammond, Matthew, Ashley, Emily, Hailey Hammond, Hudson, Harrison, Hanna Laird, Cooper Plotts, Caroline Askins and Sara Grace Askins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to New Hope Fellowship Baptist Church in Mr. Hammond's memory.
