He is survived by: his children, Michelle Thornton of Winder, GA and Douglas Smith (Lisa) of Jacksonville, FL; his brothers, Jackson Smith (Peggy) of Winston-Salem, NC and Bobby Smith (Rene) of Greensboro, NC; his grandchildren, Amanda Berthold (Chris) of Jacksonville, FL, Christopher Smith (Alma) of Middleburg, FL, Lauren Perreault (Alex) of Hephzibah, GA, Hannah Thornton of Yuma, AZ, Phillip Thornton (Landy) and Suzanne Swank (Charles) of Duluth, GA; his great grandchildren, Sydney, Madeline, Emma, Wesley and William; and also Connie Rainer (Todd) of Tavares, FL.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 24th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Jacksonville Memory Gardens (111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 24th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
