He was predeceased by: his parents, Larry Rooks and Frances Shropshire Rooks; his granddaughter Amber McBride; and his brothers, Jimmy Rooks and Billy Rooks.

He is survived by: his children, Jason Rooks of Jefferson and Michelle McBride of Jefferson; his granddaughter Marissa Day (Josh); his great grandchildren, Kayden Jackson, Hayleigh Day and Carli Day; and his siblings, Keith Rooks of Winder, Larry Rooks of Jefferson, Judy Dunahoo of Statham, Betty Willoughby of Augusta and Cathy Rooks of Winder.
