He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard Lee and Clara Etta Watson Mikel; his wife Leona May Eaves Mikel; his children, John Mikel and Angela Mikel; and his siblings, William Mikel and Roberta Teson.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Mikel, Jr. (Michelle) of Winston-Salem, NC, Paul Mikel (Susan) of Loganville, GA, Cory Mikel (Shannon) of Alvin, TX and Merilee Harrell of Winder, GA; and his daughter-in-law Anne Mikel. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
