He was predeceased by: his parents, Rita Bowen Harper and James Lee Harper; his brothers, James Harper and Richard Harper (Mansie); and his aunt Beadie (Vera Doering).
He is survived by: his wife Janette Harper of Winder, GA; his children, Rita Harper (Rick Lammons) of Jefferson, GA, Kathleen Harper Lasky (Stephen Lasky) of Wexford, PA, Heidi Harper of Statham, GA, Michael Harper Jr. (Carolyn Harper) of Columbia, SC and Stephen Harper (Lynn Harper) of Winder, GA; his brother Robert Harper (Diane Harper) of Myrtle Beach, SC; and his cousin Charles Harper (Dill) of Ponte Verde, FL.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
