He was predeceased by: his parents, Lois Mays, and Henry Bean Mays, Jr.; and his brother Robert Mays. He is survived by: his wife Ann Wormick Mays; his children, Larry Mays (Ansley) of Statesboro and Barbara Appling (Ben) of Dacula; his grandchildren, Caroline Appling, Andrew Appling, Reagan Mays and Riley Mays; his sister Martha Kennedy of Winston-Salem, NC; his nephews, Brian Kennedy and Rick Stoker; and his niece Katherine Kennedy.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in memory of Henry Mays be made to Winder First United Methodist Church or the Winder Lions Club.
