He is survived by: his wife Essie Mae Collett Mathis; his children, Rickie Mathis, Carol Kitchens (Mike), Vickie Davis and Penny Mathis (Jerry McLocklin); his siblings, JC Mathis, Sambo Mathis (Janice), Florence Wallace and Kathleen Maynard (Jerry); his grandchildren, Justin Ashley, Colby Cooper, Kevin and Nikki Davis; and his great grandchildren, Chloe Ashley, Samuel, Nataleigh, David Cooper and Kaden Davis.
