She was predeceased by: her parents, James Brown Fries and Bertha Marie Mertens Fries; and her sisters, June Fries and Jane Fries. She is survived by: her brother Paul Fries; and her children, Linda Patterson, James Hering (Kerstin), Steven Hering (Carma) of Lawrenceville, GA and Mark Hering (Karen). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hope Baptist Church benevolence fund.
