She was predeceased by: her parents, Ezra Lee and Arline Mae Wallace; her husband Jimmy David Sims; and her siblings, G. W. Wallace, Otis Wallace, Willie Sue Wilson, Essie Lou McCullers and Reba Boyd.

She is survived by: her daughter Dawn Peppers (Rickey); her granddaughter Candace Kennedy (Kaleb); her great grandchildren, Korie and Maddie Kennedy; her brother Henry Wallace; and her close friend B. R. Thomas. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
