He is survived by: his children, Ann Dowdy McElroy and Travis Dowdy (Melissa); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Callaway (Shaun) of Preston, Lila Dowdy, Elan "Bubba" Elliott, Nathan Dowdy (Haley) and Austin Elliott (Nicole); his great grandchildren, Mason Callaway, Preston Dowdy III, Penelope Dowdy and Oliver Elliott; and his sister Carolyn Curry. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
