He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Pitts and Ella Pate Pitts; his son Jeff Pitts; his granddaughter Ella Marie Ussery; his brothers, Douglas Pitts and J. W. Pitts; and his nephew Richard Pitts.
He is survived by: his wife Dian Bouchell Pitts; his children, Chris Pitts (Jessica) and Jodi Ahlquist (Noah Cook); his grandchildren, Taylor, Lorie, Chris', Sarah, Lauren, Will, Morgan and Andrew; and his great grandchild Holly.
