He was predeceased by: his parents, Pleamond Brownlee, Sr. and Orrie Simmons Brownlee; his brother Pleamond Brownlee, Jr.; and his parents-in-law, Lena English and Bobby Truett.
He is survived by: his wife Karen "Stump" Truett Brownlee; his children, Jodi "Boobee" and Bert "Berto"; his grandchildren, Addison "Halfpint" Melton, Heaven "Girlfriend" Melton and Benjamin Melton III; his great grandchild Lennox; his brother Joe; his sister-in-law Jane Brownlee; and his mother-in-law Nancy "Memaw" Truett. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
