He was predeceased by: his father Leonard "Buddy" Akin; his sister Cherree Womack; and his stepfather David Harris. He is survived by: his daughters, Jessica Duffey (Andrew) and Jennifer Rice (Joshua); his grandchildren, Jackson, Cohen, Corbin, Maelin and Larkin; his mother Paulette Harris; the mother of his children Teri Akin; and his stepsiblings, Julie Fennell (Keith) and Chris Harris (Dana). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
