He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gordon Smith and Nellie Harper Smith; and his sister Carolyn Smith Vickers. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hendley Smith of Willacoochee; his children, Melanie Summerlin (Neal) of Willacoochee and Marlin Smith (Bridget) of Adel; and his grandchildren, Kale Smith, Nate Smith and Camille Summerlin.
