He was predeceased by: his parents, C. A. Preston and Violet Black Preston. He is survived by: his wife Vickie Waggoner Preston of Whitesburg; his sons, Nelson "Jake" (Angie Preston) and Justin Boyd "JB" (Angelie Preston); and his siblings, Jeanne Hejny and Charlie Preston of Loveland, Colorado. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
