He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Carnes and Joyce Pate Carnes Jones; and his stepfather James Jones. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Cook Carnes; his children, Kim, Tracy Smith of Tyus, GA, Kelvin and Krista Carnes of Whitesburg, GA; his grandchildren, Beau Duke, Keri North (Chris), Daniel Carnes (Amber) of Whitesburg and Bethany Heglar (Jacob) of Baton Rouge, LA; his great grandchildren, Kiley, Griffin North, Josey, Rance, Annistyn Carnes, Mckenzley and Colt Fincher; and his brother Darrell Jones of Newnan, GA..
