She was predeceased by: her parents, James Burley and Lula Bell Pearson Cook; her brothers, Howard, Ronald and Donald Cook; and her son-in-law Harry Evans.
She is survived by: her husband Dennis Garland; her children, Angie Reece (Stephen) and Michael Garland; her grandsons, Carlos Evans (Kayla) and Chris Evans (Penny); her great grandchildren, Taylor Evans, Jennifer and Govanni Sicairos; and her great great grandchildren, Jovanna, Javi and Jay Sicairos. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
