She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Ross and Carrie James; her son Chauncey "Chador" Winston; her brother Amos Sparks; her siblings-in-law, Johnny B. Owens, Willis Lee Williams, Shame Winston, Lillie Pearl Lovelace (Peter) and Minnie Kate Abner (Jessie); her niece Louise Dunning; and her nephew Carl B. Winston.
She is survived by: her children, Curtis Winston (Celeste), Marcie Winston (Sandra), Dedra Moore (Lee) and Marcus Winston (Katherine); her sisters, Janell Owens of Valley, AL and Ruby Murphy (Arthur) of Mesa, AZ; her sisters-in-law, Bessie Lee Wright, Willie Mae Billingslea of West Point, GA, Emma Bonner of Detroit, MI and Arvella Williams of Alexander City, AL; her nieces and nephews, Prophetess Marian Latimer, Angela James, Rosa Stiggers, Cynthia Nkwokocha, Teresa Todd and Amos Sparks, Jr.; her close friends, Martha Chappell-Shipman, Dorothy Pittman, Edith Davidson, Yvonne Mwikuta, LaGayle Brewer-Bliss, Erica Bandy and Erica Scott; and her godson Carlton Buchanon. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren.
