He was predeceased by: his father James Edward Akins; and his brothers, Scott Akins and Ricky Akins. He is survived by: his wife Brandy McDaniel Akins; his children, Grant, Jhon Randy, Payde, Luke, Nick (Holly), Jessi Owens (Chris) and Harley; his grandchildren, Ashton, Kyle, Emma, Cam and Maleah; his sister Renee; and also Joan Bolles (Craig).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Shriner's or any other organization that proudly does work for those who suffer from childhood cancer.
