He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Sr. Whaley and Cindy Whaley; his wife Martha Whaley; and his siblings, Dorothy Flourany and Cecil Whaley.

He is survived by: his sister Evelyn Roberts of North Carolina; and his pets, Rascal and Socks. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and close friends.

“So sorry to hear of the passing of Jake. I knew Jake through my first cousin Anita and husband Jewel Sanders. I always looked forward to seeing Martha and Jake when I visited West Point. I know both of them were very special to Anita and Jewel and after Jewels death Jake took special care and interest in Anita. I miss my visits to West Point and seeing each one. “Give rest, O Christ, to your servant, Jake, where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.” Rick Boyd”
