He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Leon Ellis and Sarah Elizabeth Kinnett Ellis; his brothers, Kenneth Leon Ellis and Randy Lee Ellis; and his stepson Justin Scott Denton.
He is survived by: his sister Charlene E. Metts (Calrton) of Douglas, Georgia; his stepchildren, Jacque Denton (Larry Roberson) of Douglas, Christine Wagenblast (Gary Edwards) of Tennessee and David Wayne Carpenter of Georgia; his granddaughter Laken Woods (Paul Woodard) of Waycross, Georgia; and his great grandchildren, Mackenzie Summerlin (Zachary) of Hazlehurst and Anthony "Bubba" Woods, Jr. of Waycross, Georgia..
