He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Edna Gates Hickox; and his siblings, Gillis, Lawton, Fred Hickox, Clara Russell, Effie Griffin and Inez Stokes.
He is survived by: his sons, Ted Daniel Hickox (Betty) of Wilkesboro, N. C. and Carl "Rusty" Russell Hickox (Evelyn) of Waynesville, GA.; his grandchildren, James Daniel Hickox, Theresa Cothren, Shedina Brown, Brian Curry (Kelsey) and Devin Curry (Katie); his great grandchildren, Chelsea Smith, Michael Cothren, Faith Cothren, Kyle Curry, Annalise Curry, Amris Curry, Liam Curry, Asher Curry, Dawson Curry, Kase Curry, Olivia Curry and Cate Drake; his sister Myrtice Hickox (Landell) of Mexico; and his niece Christy Stokes Thomas of Hoboken.
