He is survived by: his wife Theresa May Hersh Tharpe of Waynesville; and his siblings, Robbie Tharpe of Nokesville, Virginia and Sharon Carmel (John) of Ruther Glen, Virginia. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
