She was predeceased by: her parents, Rupert Atkinson Carr and Nova Ellen Estes Carr; her husband George Edward Strayer; and her siblings, Angela Highsmith and Charles Carr.
She is survived by: her daughter Teresa; her son-in-law Philip Decker of Waynesville; her son George Edward; her daughter-in-law Tina Strayer, II of Waynesville; and her grandchildren, Charlie Beverly of Brunswick, Christopher Warren of Waynesville, Samantha Newton (Matt) of Waynesville and George Edward Strayer, III of Waynesville.
