He was predeceased by: his former wife Kathyrn Edmondson Voyles. He is survived by: his spouse Gail Chance Voyles; his daughters, Patricia Blount (Whit) of Charlotte, NC and Elaine Condon (Lawrence) of Charleston; his stepson Reuben Chance (Debra) of Augusta; his grandchildren, Kathryn Blount (Benji Burrell) of Asheville, NC, Whit Blount III (Dannielle) of Charlotte, NC, Margaret Head (Jimmy) of Charleston, SC, Raleigh Cate Chance of Augusta and Pen Chance (Melissa) of New York, NY; and his great grandchildren, Ethan Blount, Austin Blount and Caroline Head.
