He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie P. Vaughn and Vurrie Elizabeth Laughinghouse Vaughn; his former wife Clara Elizabeth McQuaig Vaughn; his wife Dorothy Ann Prine Vaughn; his son James Edward Vaughn; and his siblings, Betty Howard of Herbert Vaughn, J. P, Lamar Vaughn, Gene Vaughn, Daisy Peavy, Eloyce Dixon, Mary Cason and Faye Clark.
He is survived by: his children, Charles William Vaughn (late Shelby) of Waycross, Ronald Lee Vaughn (Kay) of Arkansas, Doris Elizabeth Bennett (Calvin) of Waycross, Robert Eugene Vaughn (Joyce) of Hoboken, Helen Marie Batten (late Danny Ray) of Waycross and Sandra Gail Dominy (Bob); his daughter-in-law Nancy Vaughn; and his sister Carolyn Sowell (Gene) of North Carolina. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
