With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Vernell Jewell Wells (Waycross, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 7, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jackson Jewell and Daisy Joyner Jewell; her husband Charles Roland Wells; and her siblings, Maggie Smith, Francis Barrett, Annie Bell Musgrove, Myrtice Exum, Bonnell Wilson, Lester Jewell and Paul Jewell.
She is survived by: her children, Janice Wells Bennett (Hilton) of Waycross, Sharon Wells Booth of Waycross, Kimberly Wells Hammond (Steve) of Juliette, GA and Charles Jackson "Chuck" Wells (Regina) of Waycross. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (2095 Central Ave, Waycross, GA 31501). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
