He is survived by: his wife Lan Duong Sims; his stepson Chibao Huyen; his mother Nelda Francine "June" Oglesby Towson; his stepmother Phyllis Sims; and his siblings, Tim Cavagnaro (Tammy), John Edge (Taho), Jeffrey Sims, John Sims, Jr., Cynthia McCook, Chantel Schindler and Lucinda Wagner. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
