He was predeceased by: his parents, Dempsey Leroy Mercer, Sr. and Revis Lee Mercer; his wife Betty Lou Pate Mercer; his sons, Seward Bebe Mercer, Terry Mercer and Jerry Mercer; and his sisters, Betty Ann Mercer Bass, Carolyn Mercer and Bobbie L. Mercer.
He is survived by: his son Michael Anthony Mercer of Waycross; his grandchildren, John Mercer, Anthony Mercer, Heather Mercer, Layla Shae Mercer, Brooklyn Kennedy Mercer, Ryder Michael Mercer and Destiny Thomas Mercer; his great grandchildren, Deacon Greene, Damien Greene, Chase Porter, Chance Porter and Eli Mercer; and his siblings, Dempsey Leroy and Polly Mercer Edge. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
