He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cecil Bennett, Sr. and Eloise Thigpen Bennett; and his grandparents, George R. and Evelyn W. Bennett. He is survived by: his brothers, John Cecil Bennett, Jr. (Beverly) of Waycross, Jack Bennett (Bonnie) of Glenwood, GA and Jerry Bennett of Waycross.
