He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Fulton Drawdy and Bernice Hewett Drawdy; his siblings, Jerol Drawdy, Joyce Shumpert, Wanda Hampton, Delton W. Drawdy and Iris Hipps; and his close friend Harvey Rawlins.
He is survived by: his wife Joann Drawdy of Waycross; his children, Richard James Drawdy, Jr. (Lisa) of Waycross, Regina Smith (Terry) of Waycross, Robyn Brookshire (Lee) of Waycross and Rodney J. Drawdy (Janna) of Waycross; his grandchildren, Brooke Pittman (Eric), Kristin Walker, Kylie Knox (Colby), Justin Drawdy (Allie), Brianna Drawdy, Madison Brookshire (Trey Martin), Kaitlyn Drawdy, Rylee Drawdy and Cullen Drawdy; his siblings, Ricky Drawdy (Jennifer) of Illinois, Inez Butler of Hilliard, FL and Shirley Ammons of Waynesville, GA; and his close friend Emory Grantham. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Music Funeral Home (1503 Tebeau St, Waycross, GA 31501). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at the Kettle Creek Cemetery (2523 Carswell Ave, Waycross, GA 31503).
