He was predeceased by: his parents, Trenton Lamar Shugart and Ferol Mae McKinney Shugart; his wife Carolyn Joiner Shugart; his daughter Tammy Ketchem; his grandson Jason Ketchem; and his brother Billy Shugart.
He is survived by: his children, Tina Kerr (William) of Jacksonville, FL, Terri Fletcher of Waycross and Zakary Austin Shugart; his sisters, Faye Mote of Dublin, TX and Bonnie Alewine of Dublin, TX; and his half-brother Danny. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
