It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Naomi Ellen Steptoe of Waycross, Georgia, who passed away on January 15, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Jason Gregory and Lennie Mae Carter Gregory; her siblings, LeLand Gregory, Floyd Gregory, Marie Gregory Whitaker, Martha Gregory Teston and Rosa Lee Gregory; and her son David Steptoe.
She is survived by: her husband Gerald Wayne Steptoe; her siblings, Jason Gregory (Maxine), George Gregory (Janice), Bess Cline (Bob) and Lillie Mae Peacock (Jimmy); her daughters, Laura Steptoe Pike and Lisa Steptoe Smoak (Steve Bennett); her daughter-in-law Danielle Steptoe; her son Wade Steptoe (Holly); her grandchildren, Miles Gaultney, Matthew Gaultney (Hillary), Haley Steptoe Cronic (Josh), Hannah Steptoe Weeks (Zack), Evan Smoak, Justin Schuman (Ashton), Anna Schuman Spires (Zack) and Matthew Schuman; her great grandchildren, Gideon Cronic, Knox Cronic, Lucy Ellen Cronic, Ellie Kay Schuman and Birdie Schuman; and her close friend SallyGirl Steptoe. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Deenwood Baptist Church (1505 Hilliard Ave, Waycross, GA 31501). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
