She was predeceased by: her parents, Elbert Carter and Addie Carter; and her siblings, Benny Carter, Eunice Carter Manning, William Carroll Carter and Betty Carter Dowling.

She is survived by: her husband Sherman Altman; her sister Patsy; her sons, Ronnie Altman (Patti) and Greg Altman (Martha); and her grandchildren, Brandi Ventre, Brandon Altman (Abra), Kelli Altman (Tony), Brandi Smith (Jeff), Libby Lee (Brian), Ashley Altman and Tim Grady. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
