It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katie Ballentine (Waycross, Georgia), who passed away on March 16, 2018, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph C. Ballentine, Jr.; her siblings, Kenneth Reginald Sawyer, William Jesse Sawyer, Jr., Forrest Elwood Sawyer, Juanita Joan Sawyer Peterson, Warna Jean Sawyer Lind and Stella Sawyer Jackson; and her daughter-in-law Linda Newkam Ballentine.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Lou Hoover and Terry Ballentine; her grandchildren, Jacob Charles Hoover, Jeffrey Charles Ballentine of Jacksonville, FL, Jesse Wyatt Ballentine (Amy) and Mindy Kay Owens (Mark) of California; and her great grandchildren, Ava Grace Hinton, Wyatt Thomas Ballentine, Josie Annalyn Ballentine, Joseph Weston Ballentine, Lillian Ray Owens and Lincoln Earl Owens. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
