He was predeceased by: his parents, Lunzy Spivey and Rhoda Lott Spivey; his sister Geraldine Spivey Norris; his brother-in-law Carl Dean Norris; and also Dean Norris.
He is survived by: his stepmother Hazel Grantham Spivey; his wife Elaine Brown Spivey; his brother Al Spivey of Douglas; and his children, Barney Spivey (Amy) of Douglas, Jaye Smith (Chuck) of Fernandina Beach, John Spivey (Mary Ford) of Douglas and Andy Spivey (Kim) of Blackshear.
