He was predeceased by: his parents, Bradley Barnes and Alma Yancey Barnes; his sons, Michael Barnes and Keith Carter; and his siblings, Beulah Leggett, Troy Reynolds, Robert Barnes, Elmo Barnes and Jason "J. W." Barnes.
He is survived by: his wife Bobbie "Joan" Barnes of Waycross; his children, Darrin Barnes (Katrina) of Chatsworth, GA, Timothy Barnes (Karen) of Fitzgerald, Donna Robbins (Todd) of St. Petersburg, FL, Gail Thomas (Jack) of Waycross and Cindi Carter of Dublin, GA; and his sister Geneva Barnes of Leesburg, GA. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
