Iris Jean Rowell Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Iris Jean Rowell (Waycross, Georgia), who passed away on October 5, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Bradley Purvis and Ernestine Barnhill Purvis; her husband Herbert "Hub" Rowell; and her sisters, Helen Hires Monk, Carolyn Purvis Day and Faye Purvis McCrae.
She is survived by: her children, Eli Bennett of Waycross, Bradley Rowell, Sr. (Darciele) of Blackshear, Teresa Rowell Vaughn (Lewis) of Brewton, AL, Randall Rowell (Glenda) of Blackshear, Iris Rowell Collins (Wayne) of Claxton, Keith Rowell of Waynesville and Nina Rowell Brantley (Perry) of Jesup; and her sisters, Virginia Hendrix of Douglas, Betty Dees of Douglas and Christine Harper of Waycross. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made in her honor to Second Baptist Church, 301 Tomberlin Rd., Waycross, GA 31503.
