He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Tatum, Jr. and Lottie Wildes Tatum; his great grandchild Adrian Arnold; and his siblings, James Hamilton "Hamp" Tatum, Elias Adam Tatum, Lavenia Bell Tatum, Margaret Simerly, Doris Douglas, Melissie Howell, Lottie Mae Vanhoy and Kathleen Pedrick.
He is survived by: his children, Gloria Douglas (Allan) of Waycross, George L. Tatum, Jr. (LaShea) of Blackshear and Jerry Tatum (Debra) of Waycross; his grandchildren, Charles Conley (Camille), Tatum Sikes, Justin Douglas (Catrina), Steve Douglas (Lacie), George L. "Shorty" Tatum, III (Nancy), Ashlee Griffin (Curtis), Samantha Tatum, Erica Jones (Johnathon) and Lee Tatum (Felicia); his siblings, Jane Bennett (John) of Waycross and Toomer Tatum (Betty Sue) of Waycross; and his sister-in-law Jo Tatum of Waycross. He is also survived by twenty great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren.
