She was predeceased by: her parents, William Samuel "Sam" Godwin and Maude Fiveash Godwin; her husband John Grady Strickland, Sr.; her daughter Mona Maurice Whitaker; and her brothers, Nathan Harold Godwin Sr., Clifford Vernon Godwin and Bobby Gene Godwin.
She is survived by: her children, Suzane Wiggins (Mike) of Waycross, John Grady Strickland, Jr. (Agnes) of Patterson and William Stancil Strickland (Denise) of Waycross; and her siblings, Catherine Arnold of Albany and Jackie Lamar Godwin of Hephzibah. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren.
