He was predeceased by: his parents, James Earnest Chastain and Myrtle Lee Thomas Chastain; and his sister Barbara Poppell (Ray). He is survived by: his son Brian Gordon Chastain of Waycross, GA; his grandsons, Andrew Ryan Chastain and Ethan Bryan Chastain; his sister Marion Smith (Charles); his niece Stacie Skipper; his nephews, Kelly Smith and George Poppell; and his cousins, Larry and Rebecca Cason.
