He was predeceased by: his father John Beland "J. B."; his wife Emily Nobles McQuaig; his siblings, Norwood Beland McQuaig, Sr. (Nelene) and Christine Hurst; and his brother-in-law Donnie Hugh Hurst.
He is survived by: his children, Derek Kelly McQuaig of Nahunta, GA and Shannon Blake McQuaig (Lily) of Evans, GA; his grandchildren, Derek John McQuaig (Chelsea), Dara Stokes (Jasper), Madeline McQuaig, Allison McQuaig Renfroe (Nick) and Tiffany McQuaig; his siblings, Phyllis Hamilton (Lenwood) of Blackshear and Kenny McQuaig (Gail) of Waycross; his brother-in-law Marvin Hurst of Waycross; and his nieces and nephews, Michael Hurst (Khrista), Timmy Hurst, Amy Dixon (Evan), Paige Smith (Tim), Buddy McQuaig (Carrie), Jan Edmundson (Barry), Tammy Benchoff (Robert) and Brian McQuaig. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
