He was predeceased by: his parents, Dawson A. Woodard and Frances Smith Woodard; his grandparents, Lonnie, Edith Woodard, Floyd and Ethel Smith; and his parents-in-law, Neal and Loretta Penland.

He is survived by: his wife Debra Woodard of Waycross; his siblings, Kathi W. Mattox of Waycross and Woody Woodard (Kim) of Waycross; his nieces and nephews, Jess Mattox (Leah), Dawson Woodard and Savannah Woodard; his great-nephew Tripp Mattox; his brother-in-law David Penland (Denise) of Dixie Union; and his nieces and nephews, Greg Penland (Sarah), Lana Penland and Lindy Penland. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
